Ben and Jerrys " Climate Change College"

The man behind icecream company Ben and Jerrys has long had an interest in Climate Change. The company has been taking steps to offset its carbon emmisions and is now taking an even more active role in the fight against Climate Change. Setting up the 'Climate Change College' Ben and Jerrys aims to train 6 young people to be ambasadors for the issue of Climate Change.

The whole process is rather lengthy, the first stage was filling out an application form with details of your interest in climate change and what you are doing about it. From over 1000 applications 50 people in the UK and 50 in the Netherlands have been chosen for the next round. I am one of the UK applicants and the next stage is complete the following:

"Send us your views on climate change in a creative way. It might be as a news article a video message or anything creative as long as you can send it and we can judge it in max. 5 minutes."

They need 12 people for the next stage, 6 from the UK 6 from the Netherlands and then they will narrow it down to a total of 6.

Wish me luck: >90% of applicants have been rejected and 94% of the remainder will also not be succesful ! Not good odds but what the hell, lets have a go!

That is cool. I wish they were doing stuff like that in the US.

It's cool. But it's even more important to educate the children, using the videoclip ClimateMash. Every child should understand that the global warming sceptics are vampires who drink oil.
